I wanted to make a blog post about juvederm filler because I recently had my very first experience with it. (As some of you have noticed a bit of a change) and because I'm someone who posts regularly, I feel the need to share with you all! For anyone thinking about it, or on the fence about having it done, I'm here to share my experience.
All my life, I've been very self conscious about my skinny little lips and never liked the way they looked, especially in pictures. I have always lined my lips and would draw the line outside of my actual lip line, to give the effect that my lips were bigger. But it never felt like enough. My eye would always go right to the serious lack of plumpness I wasn't blessed with! 😋I've always thought about having lip injections done.
I know, some of you are going to shake your head and tell me I'm ridiculous. But I truly don't care because adding some spunk to my Brookie lips has made me feel so much more confident and happy with my appearance.
A HUGE shoutout to Dr. Steven Davis located in Cherry Hill, NJ. He is wonderful! So sweet, so kind, listens to what you want, what you like, what you don't like, and then he puts his skills and talent to work! He made them look full, and natural. I didn't want to be a Kardashian. I wanted to be me. Me with a little bit of enhancing. And he managed to do just that!
The procedure itself took about 15 minutes, wasn't very painful at all, and the healing process took about 2-3 days. I went for my first injection and he injected 1 syringe of juvederm filler. He didn't want to scare me with too much, but he knew I would most likely want a little more after seeing how 1 syringe healed and settled, so I made a follow up appointment for a week later, which is when he then injected syringe number 2! I experienced a little bit of soreness, but no bruising or crazy swelling at all. I was nervous because I know several people who had their lips injected by different doctors, and looked like they were punched in the face for a week after. But not me! Because Dr. Davis is THE ACTUAL BOMB. He said my plump lips will last about a year, although coming back a little before then for a touch up, wouldn't be a bad idea.
I did lots of research before I went, and during my consultation, I was worried I might have an allergic reaction, as I am allergic to many things. Dr. Davis informed me that this is the safest and most effective way to enhance my lips. Juvederm filler is made up of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance found in our skin, muscles and tendons. So to be allergic to it, isn't possible. If anyone has ever had a reaction or bad bruising and/or bleeding, it's because the doctors injections weren't done well.
I'm sharing my experience with you, because I'm not trying to pretend these lips are my own or hide what I've done. I'm all about enhancing your natural beauty with product! (Hence my job as a cosmetologist!)
So, if you're thinking about filler, I'm here to tell you, it's pretty much one of the greatest inventions of all time. Go for it! But don't get too crazy! 😋😉💋
