Happy Wednesday, and thanks for stopping by!
How cute is this sweetheart dress? It's so comfy! I feel like a bohemian princess in it. The best part: I got it at my favorite boutique in my hometown, GorJess & LoveLee.
When I say this is my favorite boutique, I really mean...this is my FAVORITE boutique. The clothes are some of the most trendy, fun pieces around. All of their things are very unique. I am constantly getting compliments when I'm sporting a number from here. What's even better, is they are actually affordable! It's not necessary to break the bank to look good. I can never walk into this place without purchasing something. And the girls who work and represent this business are some of the sweetest beings alive.
If you click the link above to view their site, you can find their location and learn a little bit about how and when the boutique was founded. They normally do have a site with clothing available for purchase. However, my sweet friend, Leah (AKA LoveLee, owner of the store) is currently battling Lymphoma and she's sorta busy with working on kicking cancers ass and getting better! But I assure you once she is in the clear, she will be back at it online. She is a young, beautiful brunette gal with a passion for fashion, an eye for only the best, and she has a heart of gold. Please keep this wonderful soul in your thoughts and prayers.
This store opened a few years ago, and I was lucky enough to work a few doors down at a local salon when they made their big debut. I found myself taking a stroll downtown quite often, and always giving myself a reason to stop in there.
I want to stress the importance of shopping small and supporting local businesses like GorJess & LoveLee. Keep in mind, that when you visit an independent local business, you are keeping more money in your local economy. You are supporting the uniqueness your town has to offer. You're supporting local jobs, you're conserving your tax dollars. You're benefiting from the expertise of the founders of the business, and you are helping make your community a more desired destination. If each one of us spent just $100 a year more on local businesses, it would put an extra 3 million dollars a year into our economy. It would also create thousands of more jobs. That's quite incredible, when you really stop to think about it.
It's always easy to me to shop at a place like this, because the people running these little hometown shops are passionate about what they are doing. They have a love for the place and for all the people who enter. It's easy to support sweetness. When you buy from a place like this, you are not helping a CEO buy a third vacation home. You are helping a little girl get dance lessons, a little boy get his team jersey, a mom put food on the table, a young adult pay their rent, and a student pay for college.
I encourage you all to take a little stroll through your town, or take a little trip to your nearest mom and pop shop. Also, if you're ever in the area, stop in and say hi to my favorite gals on Bellevue Avenue. You won't be let down. xo
With the sweetheart dress, I wore a white floppy hat and these wedges are always on repeat. I also wear these gold circle earrings quite often. I find so much use for them! They can dress up any outfit, while also being worn casually. Plus, I love gold. I prefer it over anything else.
I'd love to hear about your favorite places to shop in your local area! Leave me a comment or shoot me a message with the info!
Thanks for visiting, my sweet readers.
Stay tuned for more glam.
